About our whole chicken

A whole bird gives you the most chicken for the money, and a carcass for stock afterwards. Ours come from King Capon in East Gwillimbury, grain and corn fed.

Birds average 4 to 5 lbs, which feeds four to six with something left for sandwiches or stock. The price shown is per pound, so your total follows the actual weight.

Can I get a custom thickness or weight?

Yes. Add a note at checkout or call the shop, and we'll cut it the way you want it.

What does air chilled mean?

Most chicken is chilled in a water bath after processing, and the meat absorbs some of that water. Air chilling uses cold air instead. You end up paying for less water, and the skin crisps better because it starts drier.
