Frequently Asked Questions
What cut of beef goes into a steak pie?
Slow cooking cuts, as a rule. Chuck and shin have the connective tissue that breaks down over a long cook and gives the gravy its body, which is why a tender cut would be wasted in a pie.
How is it packaged?
Made in house and packed at the counter. Pack sizes are listed above, and we can pack a different amount if you call the shop.
What is the difference between a steak pie and a beef pie?
Steak pie means chunks of beef you can identify, held together by gravy. Beef pie is looser and often means ground beef, which is closer to what a Scotch pie or a cottage pie does. This is the chunked kind.
