Frequently Asked Questions
Is split pea soup thick or brothy?
Thick, and there is no keeping it otherwise. The peas break apart while they cook and go on thickening as the soup stands.
How is it packaged?
Made in house and packed at the counter. Pack sizes are listed above, and we can pack a different amount if you call the shop.
Do split peas need soaking before cooking?
No, unlike most dried beans. Split peas come already halved with the skins off, so they soften in about an hour with no soaking at all. That is why split pea soup was a weeknight dish long before anyone owned a pressure cooker.
