Frequently Asked Questions
Is mulligatawny a starter or a main?
It works either way. The chickpeas give it more body than a broth soup, so with bread it stands as a light meal.
How is it packaged?
Made in house and packed at the counter. Pack sizes are listed above, and we can pack a different amount if you call the shop.
What does mulligatawny taste like?
Sour and savoury at the same time. The name is Tamil for pepper water, and the version that travelled into British cooking pairs a tart element against a savoury base. Ours takes its tartness from cubed green apple, with chickpeas for body and no cream, so it stays lighter than the creamed versions.
