Frequently Asked Questions
Is beef and barley soup filling enough for a meal?
The barley makes it heavier than a broth soup, so it eats closer to a stew. With bread alongside it works as a meal; on its own it sits better as a first course.
How is it packaged?
Made in house and packed at the counter. Pack sizes are listed above, and we can pack a different amount if you call the shop.
What kind of barley goes into soup?
Pearl barley is the usual choice, because the outer bran is polished away so it cooks faster and gives up more starch into the broth. Pot barley is less processed and keeps more chew to it. Either one will keep thickening the soup as it stands.
